Air Jordan 3 "Doernbecher"

Video review of the 2013 Air Jordan Doernbecher III that released last saturday, July 20th.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with my work on my old blog,, I had my little sneaker blog with stories, long reads about the golden age of sneakers, etc.

I've been homies with Based for quite some time now and he asked if I would like to join the team over here at Fat Kid Social Club and I was down 100%.

Expect a lot of sneaker/sports related stuff from me and the occasional Hip-Hop related stuff. I'm happy to be bringing my work to this great site that I've been a fan and friend to for the longest.

As far as my sneaker vid style is concerned, I like to make it a layered experience. I take pride in the video quality and the music selection. For me, sneakers are an extension of my love of Hip Hop and Sports, so I can't have one without the other two.

The instrumental on this vid is "Drugs" by Lil' Kim.

For now, I hope you enjoy the vid. Peace.

She gonna leave a wetspot on ya leather bruh.

Why The Dark Knight Rises Was Trash

Yeahhhhh that's right I'm bout to shit ALL over your batman movie. Now please bear with me, this isn't a review this is me stating plain facts and basic common sense. Matter of fact its so simple I can unravel Nolan's batman with a few well worded sentences and some cool ass pictures but lets go ahead and let the games begin...

Bruce Wayne (The Batman)

Bruce wayne in Christopher Nolan's Universe was good...BUT it was not good as a BATMAN Movie and here is why. If you don't already know the story of batman, He and his mother and father were leaving an opera when he was around the age or 9-10, While they were leaving they decided to take a route through an area called crime ally (What a stupid ass move). While they were walking a robber approached the Thomas Martha and Bruce Wayne with a gun, in different interpretations of the story Thomas Wayne tried to wrestle the gun from the assailant and was shot and killed, then Martha ran to her husbands side when the robber shot her as well. All of this unfolded in front of a young Bruce who was left traumatized by the whole ordeal. This is what sparked the ideal or symbol of the Batman. Bruce saw his family taken from him before his very eyes and he was so scarred by this that he dedicated his entire life to ridding the city of Gotham of crime entirely. He spend almost 10-15 years studying abroad at colleges like camrbirdge, and perfecting his mind and body to fully become the batman and to be a fully realized man as well. He has perfected numerous sciences such as chemistry,Criminology,Gymnastics ect and is also a master of 5-10 martial arts. He devoted a quarter of his life to saving his city from crime. His resolve was so strong he spent years to train his body to endure the struggles to come.

Yet Christopher Nolan decided to throw this all away in The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight rises? By what, introducing a love interest? "A Life beyond the mask" This man devoted his life to saving his city and making sure his city never had to endure what he had to endure, Yet Bale's batman spent 8+ years (Time gap between TDK & TDKR) trying to escape the mask. This is a direct deviation from batman's nature, Wayne s life as the batman was border lining on obsession, even donning the mask and cape when he was old and dying. which is point 1 as to why it wasn't a good batman movie.

Bane (The masked man, The Mercenary)

Now before I poke holes in the story I would like to say that Tom Hardy's interpretation of bane was flawless. Hardy did an excellent job or portraying bane as a sort of Highly intelligent animal which in fact bane is. Now lets get to the meat and bones of my argument.

Nolan's adaptation of a modern Bane was done very well in my opinion. I think that Nolans Bane was one of the best characters and one of the most quotable well liked villains of all time. Bane was one of Batman's toughest opponents to fight not only on a physical level but on a mental level as well. Bane was not only muscular as a comic character but in the movie as well which Nolan got correct. Also his explanation of the mask was done quite well. In the comics bane was using his mask to inject a super stimulant called venom directly into his blood stream which would give him super-human strength, agility, and endurance. In the movie it was adapted so that it would serve as medication and that the mask held back the pain of an unseen facial wound that bane suffered while in the pit. Also the sheer size of bane was done well by certain camera angles and the way hardy embodied him in his walk and his movements, Bane was also highly intelligent, intelligent enough to compete with the batman on an intellectual level and over power him on a physical level.

Here is where my issues come in. Bane was a KEY villain in batman's tenure. He went up against the bat multiple times, on one occasion bane broke batman's back. "I was wondering what would beak first...your spirit? Or your body" Add to the mix that bane was a genius and you have a deadly combination of both physical and mental. In Nolan's batman Bane was reduced from this massive gorilla like opponent to a mere pawn in a scheme by none other than Talia Al Ghul. Bane shouldn't have been killed in such a manner by being shot with a cannon when he spent most of the movie as a front man and a hype man for little Talia. How do you take such a polarizing and frightening entity such as bane and reduce him to a pawn? By a woman seeking to fulfill her fathers wishes? On most occasions I forget that bane is human and that he can actually be hurt. At all I understand Nolan's wanted to add an element of realism to this movie to make it seem like it is possible that events that took place in the movie can be done in reality but you don't have someone like bane introduced as king only to have him really be a pawn.

Batman's Arrogance and Ignorance.

Batman has always been portrayed in both comics and in movies,TV,graphic novels as a genius and someone who is always prepared for a fight. In a previous post I explained as to why Batman is the greatest hero and the most intelligent mind in the DC Universe. He has earned himself the title of "Worlds Greatest detective" and "The Dark Knight". So how is it that he was SO unprepared to fight bane? Why would he right him off as "Just a mercenary" Alfred tried to explain this to Bruce before he went up against bane and look what happened? Bruce got his shit snapped the fuck up in one of the most iconic scenes that comic readers around the world have waited decades to see. Batman is a genius and he is always prepared. In recent animated movies and also older animated movies batman even went to lengths of having a piece of kryptonite in his utility belt in case superman ever decided to join the other side. In Justice League Doom a recent animated justice league movie. Batman had plans in place that if the justice league got out of control or went to the other side he would act on his plans to neutralize them until they either died, or  until he could bring them back to the light. Batman is the most prepared man in the DC universe yet he did no research as to who bane was? Cmon.

Talia Al Guhl and The Legacy.

Alright I'mma wrap this up with these last 3 things. Starting off with Talia Al Ghul. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed her character as a whole but I don't like how they made her the main villain in the last movie in the trilogy. Also yes she was a main batman villain and has been for a very very long time, but most people have NO idea who she is, what she helped her father do, and how complicated she and Wayne's relationship truly was. In a story arc in the comic that was fairly recent Bruce and Talia had a son named Damian and she and wyane even started an all out war over each other because of Damien. I feel as though they could have done a much better job or introducing her character and making bane the true REAL villain of the movie. As based said "They made one of the better villains in the batman universe a bitch in 30 seconds, and then made his girl the main bad guy because of revenge"

Lastly the way the movie ended annoyed the fuck out of me purely on the fact that they left it up to the audience for interpretation as to what happened. I like JGL hes an excellent actor, but the way they left him the legacy of the batman. It was cool that his name was robin but how exactly was he supposed to take over and be the batman when hes just an average street cop? With basic knowledge as to how apprehend criminals. On top of that what about weapons? Funding? How is he supposed to take over the mantle of the batman without the things that Wayne had? I could go deeper but that's the basics as to what is missing. Giant holes in the story.

Overall the dark knight rises was a trash ass batman movie, but as a movie production, cast, story ect it deserved the ratings it got. Welp I ain't shit. I's like 4 AM as I write this so Imma holla.

P.S. I got more comic shit for you all I just haven't been keeping up with all of the information that's being released in regards to DC and Marvel. Anway I'm out.

Why Batman Is The Best Hero In the DC Universe

Since we have already covered my main problem with the DC Cinematic universe I'll go ahead and choose to pick apart the new superman sequel another time. For now lets talk about Batman and why hes great. Again I want to mention that I am in no way doing a review of any kind. I'm just a much a fan of DC as I am of Marvel and I can respect heroes from either side. What I wont respect or adhere to is stupid logic that batman is a weak minded and weak willed individual, when in fact he is one of, if not THE smartest mind in the DC universe.

I was thinking about this topic while some coonery was going on this morning on twitter. Couple NT dudes and some of my followers were discussing how batman would beat the bricks off superman and some people were disagreeing. Some were saying that one punch from superman would kill batman, or one shot of laser vision would kill batman. Granted all of these things are true, BUT do y'all really think batman is going to go into a fight with superman unprepared? Really? Batman is the world greatest detective. Not only does he have money, and money usually cures all things ( I mean shit look at magic Johnson), his intelligence is off of the scale. After his parents were killed he vowed to rid his city of the violence and filt that killed his parents. He spent his youth and early adulthood traveling the world preparing himself intellectually and physically to become the batman. Keep in mind that his parents died when he was around the age of 8-10. So he spent maybe 10-15 years training. He didn't return to Gotham until he had perfected all of these skills, he is a trained fighter who knows a combination of 5-10 martial arts, on top of that he has perfected criminology, chemistry, forensics, gymnastics, disguise, and escape artistry earning him the title "Worlds greatest detective" In the movie superman batman apocalypse batman threatens darkseid with the destruction of his planet by hell spores, which apparently are hella tough to crack but peep this.

On that alone he is no push over in a fight. In the early 2000s KidsWB did a 2 part hour long special showing batman and superman in the same universe for the first time. This was the first worlds finest ever on screen and in this meeting, batman is looking for the joker and so is superman. When the 2 met Batman and superman get into a brief fight which starts with batman picking superman up and throwing him across a room, superman punches batman and the fight ends with batman pulling out a piece of kryptonite big enough to disable superman but not enough to kill him. See what I mean about how batman is never unprepared? EVER? How do you meet someone for the first time and you already know their weakness and are ready to exploit it?

Nest point there's an animated movie called justice league doom where the justice league are facing Vandal Savage, and immortal who wants to destroy half the earth and creating a new world order. To do so vandal has to eliminate the justice league. Now no plan has ever worked before to beat them but Vandal hacks batman's supercomputer which has extremely detailed ways to immobilize the justice league if they were to ever be compromised. Now think about that...batman...1 man...had a plan to take down not only his friends, but the strongest force against evil in the universe. At the end of this movie superman asks batman "You had a plan to take care of us if we were went to the other side, but did you have a plan for yourself?" Batman replied "I have a plan, and that plan is the justice league". So lemme get this straight...Batman's plan to take him down if he ever went to the dark side....was to have the whole Damn justice league take him down? Do yall not get the weight of that statement?

Ill wrap it up with this.

Part 2

In essence...Batman is the strongest willed, He has strongest character, and He is the greatest intellectual mind in the DC universe, Both in the comic universe AND in the cinematic universe. I'm not counting Nolan's batman in this equation either and I'll explain why in another post.

Anyway hope yall enjoyed

DC Comics Cinematic Clusterfuck.

Whats good? I know I already hit y'all with that whole Marvel,Fox,Disney,Sony stuff lately and I plan on doing a follow up to that post right after I finish this one. This time around I'll be going back on DC universe and their cinematic universe that they're trying to build...Rather this cluster fuck of pure and utter ignorance and stupidity that they're TRYING to build a cinematic universe around.

Now let me being by saying. I am in no way a DC COMIC nerd. I grew up watching  Batman & superman the animated series along with the Justice league & justice league unlimited (which can be found on netflix).
I also remember in the early 2000s that Toonami(God rest its soul) Played an animated version of the world finest. I cant remember ALL of teh details but that was the first time I saw the 2 caped crusaders in the same movie.

Fast forward a few years we get Justice league and Justice league unlimited, which had alot of tie ins to other very cool shows like Static Shock, Batman Beyond ect. Keep in mind this is still the early 2000s so around this time is when the Justice League premiered and we got to see our heroes in animated form for the first time. Which was fucking insane.  When the 2 series ran their course we were taken on I think 200-250 EPS of cool people that we had been waiting to see together in a very long time.

Now jump forward to last summer. TDKR drops and we effectively end Nolan's universe with batman. Batman has faced scarecrow,Ra's Al Ghul,The Gotham Crime Families,2 Face,The Joker,Bane,Catwoman, and Talia Al Ghul. He faced 6 major enemies over 3 very good movies. Bales is done as batman. Granted Nolan left the door open for JGL his hand in the universe and Bruce Wayne as effectively left his other life behind to JGL "Robin".

Now we got superman. which is such a new movie that I have no idea how exactly they're going to make a SEQUEL for 2015 with batman in it. Superman JUST saved metropolis, got with Lois, and has yet to start TRULY being human and also dealing with the fact that he truly MIGHT be the last of his race ( I say might because there was an easter egg for super girl in man of steel) . You gonna just throw him in a movie with his friend and comrade 2-3 years after all this? I understand that DC wants to catch up to marvel because they saw how successful the avengers was. (1.6 BILLION). But they're rushing and I feel as though they are going to make movies that are going to be extremely sub par because of this "Rush"

Here is how you do this Cinematic Franchise the RIGHT way WITHOUT fucking it up. Keep in mind if this happens Marvel and DC will truly be competing instead of this slap fight bullshit we got now.

Superman (2013)
Batman reboot (2014/2015)
Green Lantern Reboot (2015)
Aquaman (2015)
Superman 2 (2015) *kill superman here, also make it a 2 part movie*
Wonder Woman (2016)
The Flash (2016) *Hints of MOS being alive in batman flash post credits scene*
Worlds Finest Batman & Superman (2017) *Superman returns here*
Martian Manhunter (2017)
Superman 3 (2017/2018)
Justice League (2020)

Now doesn't that make a shit ton of sense? Doesn't this seem VERY VERY VERY smart? You have 7-5 years to build a cinematic universe in which ALL of your people or heavy hitters get their own shine and all of their movies can tie in and weave into one another, you have years of audiences building relationships and learning and understanding the characters not only as a single person, but how they fit in an ensemble. In addition of the order of this movies you can add in major players like Hawkgirl,Supergirl,Lex,Doomsday, Braniac,Darkseid,Victor Freeze,The Red Hood,Soloman Grundy,Clayface ect and have a TRUE Justice League movie and an incredible cinematic universe building up to an even bigger and larger expansion of the DC franchise. Keep in mind the spacing in between these movies. Think about how the story could work.

One of the main reasons I say reboot green lantern is because the last one was horrible. Ryan Reynolds did a horrible job with green lantern and batman needs reboot before he teams up with superman. The green lantern doesn't need a new Hal Jordan it needs a John Stewart/Green Lantern.

Have Ryan Reynolds play The Flash, Have Idris Elba,Denzel Washington,Wood Harris, play John Stewart, Cavil reprise his role as superman. Gerard Butler play Aquaman, Wonder woman as Rachel Weiz, Emily Blunt, or Eva Green, IDK about batman. I'd want bale to play him.  Lastly have Richard T Jones as your Martin manhunter. I gave you an all star cast. I gave you a timeline. I gave you the reasoning behind ALL of this shit. Now obviously I'm not going to be heard cause I ain't shit. I'm just a dude sitting behind a screen with a shit ton of common sense.
If you wern't up on comic shit or DC
I hope this helped just a bit
Anyway I'll hit y'all with more marvel shit soon.
Be easy.

Marvel,Sony, and Fox's Cinematic Cluster Fuck

Waddup. Figured I'd sit down and type out some mad nerd frustration and hopefully someone will see my logic and the utter stupidity on these 3 studios parts in this rant regarding comics, their movie adaptations and their cinematic universes, now lets begin.

So I was at work a few days ago, and one of my coworkers is a HUGE comic book nut, like dude has a separate room in his crib dedicated to his comics and shit. So we got to talking about the marvel cinematic universe. Oh before I continue I do not by any means claim to be a comic junkie. My love of the comics spawned from my love of the recent cinematic universe. But like I was saying, we were discussing the recent success of marvels Phase 1 of the cinematic universe and the beginning of phase 2.

Phase 1:
The Incredible Hulk
Caption America
Iron Man 2
The Avengers.

Phase 2:

Ironman 3
Thor the Dark World
Captain America Winter Solider
Guardians Of the Galaxy
Avengers 2.

Now the next movie in our line up is Thor & Cap'n Amercia. This is one studio but the same cinematic universe as Spiderman,Xmen, AND the fantastic 4. Now here is where the stupid comes in. Joss Whedon has cast Scarlet Witch & her brother Quicksilver in the Avengers 2. If you aren't up on your comics and you don't know the significance of this. Scarlet witch & Quicksilver are mutants. In fact they're MAGNETO'S kids (See our comic book Wednesdays for more info). Now legally speaking Whedon CAN'T cast them as mutants in Avengers 2 because Fox owns the rights to X-Men.

Here comes the stupidity. The next 2 X-Men movies that are supposed to drop are going to be Wolverine & Days Of Futures Past, but get this. Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver are set to star in days of futures past, y'all see the problem? You have 2 PIVOTAL names, basically icons for comic readers but they're going to be played by 2 different people in either movie, and on top of that they may not be mutants in Whedon's universe? Cmon son. On top of this already mindfuck of a situation Hugh Jackman "Wolveriene" stated in a extremely recent interview he wants to see the Avengers,X-Men, AND Spiderman under one roof. Basically his solution to this problem is "You have 3 studios, why not go to each of them, split the costs, and make it work" Do y'all see the common sense in this?

Now that this is already done lets get on with Sony. Sony owns Spiderman. Spiderman is a KEY portion in Civil War & in the Kree & Skrull War, So are the X-Men and so are the events that led up to where Whedon is taking us in his cinematic universe. Alot of shit is going on. So much shit that all of this HAS to tie together in someway shape manner or form. The other thing is the fantastic 4 and Dr.Strange. If you don't know the fantastic 4 are part of the avengers, Reed Richards,Ironman, and strange are apart of the Marvel Illuminati (the smartest minds in the universe). Strange has had his movie green lit and Joseph Gordon Levitt is being eyed for the roll and the fantastic 4 is set for a reboot after the absolutely horrible run it had in the past 2 movies. I mead seriously you got the human torch playing Cap'n America.

I think Marvel is going to scoop up ALL the rights in the next 2-5 years. I mean why not? They can now. Marvel is making an un-Godly amount of money. Ironman 3 collected 678.9 MILLION in the first 12 days of release. That is fucking stupid, an absolutely retarded amount of money. Why else would Joss cast who he has? I think after Thor,Capn' America, and Guardians of the galaxy, Marvel is going to buy the rights to X-Men ( to solve that giant continuity issue with magneto and his kids) and wolverine, then Spiderman, then the Fantastic 4. To be honest I'd like it if they did a story line like the comics. Avengers Disassembled,House Of M,Civil war,Planet Hulk,World War Hulk, I mean even a Kree & Skrull war or a story line involving the infinity gauntlet & Thanos. There is so much shit going on it's honestly crazy. & I'm tired of seeing perfect story just being sat on cause Fox and Sony wanna be stingy.

Yall feel me? I hope so,anyway y'all stay frosty
ill hit you with something when I got something to say.
